The legal basis for processing personal data concerning health, such as heart rate tracking and other health details, is Article 9 (2) point (a) GDPR; for this purpose, we obtain consent.
Access Data
In order to improve the quality of our websites and mobile apps, we store data about individual access to our pages for statistical purposes. This record consists of:The page from which the file was requested, the name of the file, the date and time of the query, the amount of data transferred, the access status (transfer file, file not found), a description of the type of web browser or mobile device used, the IP address of the requesting computer or mobile device.
Registration process
You can register on our website and app. As part of the registration process, we collect and process the following data:E-mail address, first name, last name.These data are processed to create your usage profile, to provide you with the necessary access data and to contact you.
Phone Verification
After the registration you will be asked to provide and verify your phone number. This data is processed to send you a verification code and to prevent fraud on our platform. Our support desk agents have access to this data and might use it to contact you.
Heart rate tracking & health details
At a later stage of the onboarding process and at any time via our app settings you have the opportunity to provide your birthdate, sex, height, weight and a profile picture. This data is processed to calculate your maximum heart rate and your calorie burn, which form the basis for our heart rate tracking and point systems at BEAT81 workouts. This data is also available to our coaches and support desk agents to identify you at the workouts and to support you in case of issues with your heart rate tracking.
If you choose to use the heart rate sensors at our workouts we are also saving your heart rate (beats per minute) throughout the workout. Your heart rate is processed together with the health details to calculate your calorie burn and your BEAT, Sweat & Recovery Points. As we make your heart rate visible to you during the workout on a big screen it can also be visible to other customers for that time. You can decide to take off your heart rate sensors at any time during the workout and the tracking will immediately stop.
The heart rate data is saved in our systems and processed to provide you with information on your achievements and progress. Your achievements and progress are also visible to our coaches to provide you with personalized tips and recommendations.
Your data will be retained for as long as your profile exists and/or required for billing purposes (for example, legal retention periods). The heart rate readings, consistent of beats per minute over time collected during the workout, won't be transmitted to any third party service and is stored only in Beat81 servers. Aggregated data from these readings such as Beatpoints, calories burned or minutes working in heart rate zones can be transmitted to third parties for customer communication purposes.
Ordering process
As part of the ordering process, the following data may be collected:Name, address, payment informationThis data is used exclusively for the processing of the order and transferred and stored according to the legal requirements of the companies involved in the payment process (banks, PayPal, etc.). We offer the following payment methods: Credit card, debit card, Paypal, direct debit, immediate transfer, bank transfer. For better user guidance we use cookies. You can set your browser to inform you about the placement of cookies. This makes the use transparent for you.
Encoding
In order to protect the data you provide when using this page against unwanted access, we use an encryption method. Your data will then be transferred from your computer to our server and vice versa via the Internet using 256-bit SSL encryption (Secure Socket Layer). You will recognize this by the lock icon on the status bar of your browser and the address bar beginning with https://.
Newsletter
We offer the opportunity to inform yourself by newsletter about changes to our digital and in-person services, about new workout locations as well as temporary discounts and special events t. If you no longer wish to receive the newsletter at a later date, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the link in the footer of our newsletter.
Third-party services
The app does use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you, the general purpose is to be able to provide our service to customers and we always share the minimum amount of information required to use the third party service. Below we list all the services we use and its purpose:
App Store: it's an application distribution service and they provide us with statistics and performance of our Apps in their Store. They also provide us with a token used to send you push notifications about the workouts and updates of our service.
Autopilot: It's a customer relationship management tool, used to send communications via email, push notification or chat. This tool uses your data to be able to personalize the communication we send to you, always related to the service we provide.
Chargebee: it's a payment provider used when you subscribe to our services, they need your personal information to be able to collect payments, depending on the type of payment you selected.
Cloudinary: the service we use to host customers and coaches profile images.
Facebook: it's used to allow customers to sign in to our service with their Facebook accounts. When a user uses that option, we obtain only name and email address to create the respective account.
Firebase Crashlytics: it's a tool to log any errors or crashes that happen while using one of our apps. The tool collects IP address, device details and our user Id that will help us to debug the problem and improve our services.
Google Cloud Platform: is the cloud service provider we use to host our application services and databases. Your personal information is encrypted in the service and data is stored in EU data centres.
Google Firebase: used to send you push notifications about the workouts and updates of our service.
Google Play Services: it's an application distribution service and they provide us with statistics and performance of our Apps in their Store.
Google Analytics: tool used to measure user behaviour and accesses to our services. See "Access Data" section of this policy.
Sendbird: it's a chat infrastructure provider used in our app to enable communication between coaches and customers. They securely store all messages sent by our users.
Sendgrid: It's a customer relationship management tool, used to send communications via email, push notification or chat. This tool uses your data to be able to personalize the communication we send to you, always related to the service we provide.
Stitch: it's a data ingestion tool used to transfer data from third party tools to our data warehouse and consequently improve the service we provide to you.
Sentry: it's a tool to log any errors or crashes that happen while using one of our apps. The tool collects IP address, device details and our user Id that will help us to debug the problem and improve our services.
Youtube Videos
We use YouTube Videos for videos on the website. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The provider processes usage data (e.g. web pages visited, interest in content, access times) and meta/communication data (e.g. device information, IP addresses) in the USA. The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 s. 1 lit. a GDPR. The processing is based on consent. Data subjects may revoke their consent at any time by contacting us, for example, using the contact details provided in our privacy policy. The revocation does not affect the lawfulness of the processing until the revocation.

When you delete your account, we delete things you have posted, such as your photos, bookings, workout results and your personal information data in the third party services listed above, and you won't be able to recover that information later. Information that others have shared about you isn't part of your account and won't be deleted. If you don't want to delete your account but want to temporarily stop using the Products, you can deactivate your account instead.
